Mt Lefroy

West Face Route Mt Lefroy, Banff National Park

Mt Lefroy is often climbed on the same trip as the SE Ridge of Mt Victoria.

Both of these routes are based from the Abbotts Hut.

Most of this route is moderately angled snow and ice climbing with a short summit ridge traverse to the peak.

Our descent is the same way down as we climbed up.

The climb takes around 4-5 hours return from Abbotts Hut.

We normally climb this peak on day three then head back to Lake O'Hara.

Adding a third day to a two day SE Ridge Mt Victoria trip makes for a stunning three day mountaineering trip that gets you up two of the classic 11,000 ft peaks.
