The highest peak in the Lake Louise group, one of the “50 classics” of North America.

The second highest peak in Banff National Park and the 11th highest peak in the Canadian Rockies.

The first 11,000'er in the Canadian Rockies to be climbed, in 1894.

There are many different routes on this peak. We offer the East Ridge and the SW Ridge scramble routes.

    East Ridge Route

    The East Ridge of Temple is the one of most popular routes on the mountain.
    One of the "50" classic climbs of North America and the 11th highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at 11,624 ft/3543m.

    Lake Louise, Banff National Park
    Alpine grade 3, scrambling, 2 pitches of 5.7 rock, snow and ice along the summit ridge.
    2 days with a bivy, or 1 long day 16-18 hours return to Moraine Lake.

  • Mt Temple SW Ridge, Tourist Route
    South West Ridge

    The SW ridge route is the most commom way up to the peak and is around 12 hours return.

    This route when dry is really no more then a scramble with a few easy rock climbing moves.
